We've Got The Answers
to your questions.

(Well, not all of them. We can’t figure out #4 on that ECON final either.)

What is Alight?

It’s a top-quality Fayetteville community designed especially with University of Arkansas students in mind. Alight features a variety of spacious, furnished apartments plus a full set of community features such as resort-style pool, 24-hour fitness center, clubhouse with study rooms and more.

Is Alight part of the University of Arkansas?

Alight is a privately owned and professionally managed community. Click here for more information about the management and ownership.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Alight has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom. What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Alight pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Furnishings
  • In-unit laundry
  • High-speed internet
  • Water/sewer
  • Valet trash (fee required)
  • Community features – fitness center, swimming pool, etc.
What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at Alight are available in and 3 bedroom floorplans, with a private bedroom-bathroom suite for each resident.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, each apartment at Alight has a furniture package that includes a full-size bed, desk, desk chair, and dresser in each bedroom. The living room includes a sofa, chair, and coffee table. The 3-bedroom kitchen includes a dining table and chairs. The two-bedroom kitchen includes 2 barstools. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please view our virtual tour of a model apartment.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 14, 2024 to July 23, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates may be available; please inquire with our staff. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Each resident must pay an administrative fee within 7 days after signing the Housing Agreement. This fee is reduced significantly if the resident provides a qualifying guarantor (often a parent) for their financial obligations under Housing Agreement.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Alight also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Alight?

Your living costs at Alight can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Alight. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Alight open to non-students?

Alight is designed and offered for students at University of Arkansas and other local colleges and universities. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Therefore, applications are accepted only from students at one of these local colleges or universities. Alight is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes student residents/families with children. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Alight has a monitored fire-sprinkler system and individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are also provided at select times. Management staff are available 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Alight is a pet-friendly community, subject to limits on animals and breeds. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent spaces. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of apartment-mates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at Alight?

Alight offers free on-site parking, plus optional reserved parking for an additional cost.

What other transportation options will I have?

The shuttle bus service runs weekdays between 7am and 3:30pm, during Fall and Spring semesters when school is in session and drops off at the Harman Garage, next to the business and engineering schools. Campus is also just minutes away by e-scooter on the Greenway Trail.
